98 GS300 - routing of the rear brake anti-squeal spring?
I just replaced my rear pads, and the anti-squeal / anti-rattle spring was missing. The pad kit I got came with new springs, so that's great, but I'm not sure I'm getting the routing of the spring right. It looks like the spring starts at the upper set of guide holes (the one without the pin), runs down under the pin at the lower set of guide holes, and back up to the other side. However, I can't tell if the spring should go through the lower part of the retaining clip that holds the pin in or if it should go under the clip entirely. I tried getting it all together with the spring going through the clip and I can't get the spring to stay on while I install the clip. Any clues or pictures?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I just did mine and if I remember correctly, those pins are in kind of an "M" shape right?
If thats the case then I made a quick drawing that might help. After you install both pads, the "M" sort of lays in between the the 2 pads right above the rotor. There should be a little hook on each leg of the "M" that hooks into the little holes on top of the pads. Let me know if that doesn't make sense and ill take an actual picture.

Awesome, thanks for the drawing. The positioning of the "hooks" is super helpful. I also spent a bunch of time and finally found this thread with pictures which agree with your drawing:

I'll be re-doing my brake job shortly. Thanks for the help!
