Exactly, there is no way for you to have 45k miles and have only used 1 mm of pads.

Well he did say he was at 8mm. My 2014 IS250 Fsport is at 21k and my recent inspection the dealer said I have 9mm all around (I drive easy most of the time).

Everything I've read indicates the OEM F sport brake pads are 17.2mm. These are the specs that show up when I searched the part number. Can anyone provide a link that proves otherwise? I'd really like to know the specs so I can estimate actual replacement.

Anyway 8mm out of 17mm at 45k doesn't seem too far out there. I'm not getting anything close to that, but my miles are mostly city.

Factory F sport brake pads have 9mm brand new. Census on this forum is that factory pads lasts about 15-25k miles. Someone changed your pads without you knowing.
I owned about 10 different cars past 15 years and none of them lasted more than 45k miles regardless of what type of vehicle it is.
you have owned 10 different cars ? What kind of car ? Luxury or Cheap one ? may i ask how old are you ? who do you kidding with ? to prove it call your Auto Insurance they must have your record how many cars you have owned, download it and post it here, don't talk like you are the only one, so stop lying ! sounds like you leased 10 different cars for the last 15 years or let say you bought a car in every 1.5 years, so do the math your minimum leased is 1.5 years one and half years ?

So you drive 40k miles a year ? how did you know the pad is worn ? brake pad wear out slow or fast its depend on the driver if he/she grind it or use engine brake or manual trans brake, don't blame the auto maker it's your driving and braking habit, i drove 5 speed standard Triptronic paddle shift and regular Automatic trans like old Camry, we replace the trans on 1997 Honda Prelude in 2 years because we used Manual shift to brake, we change Clutch more often on 2000 Toyota Celica and Brake pad on Toyota Camry, owned a 1992 Supra almost 3 years but i don't wanna count it because i didn't have the car that long.

10 different cars and none of them last 45k miles ??? that's an utter lie. no matter what OEM Brake PAD will last longer than any performance or aftermarket pad and they are good. i aware that performance pads wear out faster than normal one but again depend on the drivers too.

Well on my dealer visit for 10k miles, they told me i have about 6mm out of 9mm left on the fronts (Noted on their service paperwork). I am now at 17k miles and the pads have about 3mm on them. And looking at the pictures of a new brake pads, 9mm seems about right...but I could be wrong.

But either way, Mrg02d said his dealer put wrong number and had to get his brakes changed. but 45k is about right for a person that drive "normal".

I just received my pads today for my 2014 is350 F-sport brakes and the thickness is about 11mm and 9mm for where the line stops. So the 9mm on the pads are right.

I did checked the rears and they seem to be much thicker than 9mm and has about 17k miles on them. Maybe 17.2mm is for the rears. anyhow, I won't be replacing them anytime soon.

Interesting. This means at 21k, I had zero wear on my front brakes and potentially significant wear on the rear.

I will say that I think the brakes on the 250 F Sport seem to be oriented toward withstanding spirited drivers on the 350 F models, and in the past when I drove cars with lots of horsepower, my brake pads and rotors needed much more frequent service (if the power is there, it gets used). These days I am far from a spirited driver. It makes sense that the 250 F is much more economical on brake parts, under utilizing the equipment it has, I just don't think I could explain zero wear on the front at 21k to anyone and expect them to believe me.

my local reputable shop charges $50.00 for the pads and $105 for both pads and resurfacing rotors (fronts only). But I did mine myself, fairly easy. My rotors were fine though.
