What would you pay for brakes & rotors?
I have some vibration in my steering wheel when braking from freeway speeds, I took the car into brake masters and was told they can't be resurfaced cause if they took it down it wouldn't meet the surface requirements blah blah, was quoted 688, for all rotors and pads. 
?
What are my options?

Definitely agree here. IIRC, when I did my LS400 upgrade I paid around $750~ish and that was with the LS400 front calipers, remanufactured rear calipers, SS lines, rotors and pads (and maybe even the paint I used for the calipers...

I just went through the front and rear brakes on my 98. With pads, new rotors, and hardware kits I only paid $280 from advance auto parts. They also gave me a $50 off $100 purchase coupon because of this purchase. I would have rather used OEM, but for less than half the price, I couldn't justify it.

I've changed brake pads and rotors in parking lots, rest stops.

I can change them myself. Iv just been working alot and was thinking of having them done to save me some time. Like drop it off while I'm at work and pick it up on lunch. I actually have never changed rotors before And didn't think it was possible to do it myself. I just watched the DIY video and I didn't know it pops off with 2 screws lol I thought rotors were pressed in like wheel studs.
