Brake Change: Best way to depress the piston without removing caliper
With 6 or so tracks day a year I do a lot of brake changes on my IS350. Now considering going to track only brake pads which will make them even more frequent as I will have to swap pads every track day. All in all it is a super easy job but I always have to fight compressing the pistons back in when I change pads without removing the calipers (ie just pull them out the back). I am currently just using a c-clamp and a old brake pad to compress the pistons but it never seems to push them back enough so I have to fight it. Is there a better way? Any good tool I can buy that will work with the calipers still installed. Every one I have seen requires the calipers to come off to work and I am just to lazy to do that.

I use a C clamp, never had an issue, I can change brakes out on the front axle in 15 min. Not sure how you are having issues compressing the pistons

I also have to say I've never has any issue with using a C-clamp on a 2IS.
But, if you need the change out HOT pads right after a track-day, that method might not always be safe. Might I introduce this!
