Just got quoted $500 to do my front balljoints.
Called an indy shop in my area and they just quoted me $500+ to do my front ball joints. Just that nothing else. Anyone have a good mechanic in socal zip 91325?

Try doing a search in the SoCal Regional Forum. You'll find a quite few threads with recommendations to various shops, mechanics and what not.

most places dont just replace the upper ball joint they replaced the whole Upper Control Arm (UCA) I found out the hard way thinking that I was going to just replace the ball joint so I just ended up buying a MOOG UCA from amazon for $139each cheaper than what the shop was charging me. There's a few DIY but one of my mechanic is charging me $50 to install both UCA. can't complain there.

Ok. i will tackle this one, but still want to find a good indy shop for things I cant do. Thanks guys. Anything else I should other than the lower ball joints? Doing coilovers in a couple months but need the ball joints done now because of all the creaking and noise im getting from the front.

I was able to tackle this job this weekend with my buddy. The hardest part was removing the balljoint from the arm. My buddy had a impack gun with fork attachment with helped out alot. took about 2.5 hours with beer breaks. Steering feels much better with the new tie rods as well and the crunching sound is now gone. Thanks all for the help.
