when checking control arm ball joints, jack the car up from the control arm. when you jack it up from the frame the suspension is loaded and you won't get any movement in the balljoints.

If you jack up the back of the car, with ebrake off, and trans in neutral. Grab the tire and try push / pull it side to side, top to bottom. Is their any movement?

I'm having a similar problem and think I have narrowed it down to the toe arm ball joint. I will know when the new arm shows up.

do you have popping sounds from the suspension? i suspect my balljoints are going on my upper control arms (new lowers) because sometimes i hear popping noise when i accelerate hard and then brake hard as something feels/sounds like it shifts.
