Akebono vs Brembo

Anyone ever buy/use these Brembo Ceramic Brake pads before? I've read a lot of good stuff about the Akebonos but if these Brembos perform better, last longer, don't produce a lot of dust brake and don't squeak I would get those instead.

I can't really speak about the Brembo pads (have never used them) but I will say I saw a big difference when it comes to dust upon switching from OEM to Akebono ceramic pads. So far I'm quite happy with Akebono.

I want to say they're (Brembo) either fairly new to the ISX50 or never were on Tire Rack before this year. Stoptech (not in your options) was another favorite around here other than OEM. Most, including myself, will be quick to recommend the OEM low-dust pads.

I can say that the one member on here that commented on his Brembo pads were causing an awful squealing after installation. I can personally comment on the usage of StopTech Streets, and they're great for aggressive DD'ing and auto-xing. Medium level of dust, good cold stopping power and great warm stopping power, and no adverse noises to speak of.

Thanks for the responses! I will probably be going with the Akebonos then when I change out my brake pads. Just need something that stops the car, low brake dust, and does not squeal.

I have a USED set of Akebono pads set aside to test out once my StopTech Streets are done. Also have EBC Yellows standing by too. Wish Axxis Ultimates were available in the states for the front of my IS350; they only offer the rears for the 350 in the US. Those Ultimates are my favorite "street" pads to date!

I'm not sure what the OP is driving, but I just did the brakes on my 98' LS Akebono front and rear with Centric E-coated rotors and new Beck Arnley wear sensors. Make sure to reuse the stock shims and the brake quiet that comes with the new pads to prevent squealing.
