Supra TT rotors and what wheels?
I am interested in upgrading my brakes and want to know what wheels folks have found that fit with the TT brake upgrade?
If you are running TT rotors and calipers (RMM or TRD branded too), what wheels do you have? Are there any 17 or 18s that work?
I am only interested in the wheels because they give me room for the brakes. I know most 20s would fit, but I am not interested in 20s.
BTW - Went to TR and punched in 96 Supra Turbo and looked for what wheels would work and it only came up with like 5 choices. No to 18" Moda R6 surprised me! Yes to SSR GT1 17" surprised me too!
Also - Does anyone know what size the LS brakes are and would they offer an increase in stopping power, or do they have a 4 piston caliper?
Thanks for the wisdom!!

My 18x8" Piaa Rozza Altra (even with high disk) do NOT fit over the brakes without a very small spacer. It was quite a surprise as the design of the wheel and the high disk fittment looked like it would go easily. You're doing the smart thing finding out first; don't underestimate the size of the TT brakes, they're not called a 'big brake' upgrade for nothing.
There are folks who have modified the brakes or shaved the calipers to make them fit more tightly; that might open your choices up.

If you want to use the Supra rotor and have little room you can use the LS430 caliper with them instead which are much slimmer and still 4 piston alluminum calipers. They actually have a little bit bigger pad even. That's what I'm doing but you'll need to shave the caliper bracket 2mm I think. I'll do a write up later.

Good stuff
Thanks all...
I first got spooked when Steve Ganz told me the L-tuned 18 wheels wouldn't fit the TT brakes, and then I did my TR search and was very confused.
Tell me more about the LS calipers... straight bolt on? better performance? What size rotors? Can use TT rotors? Shave for stock 17s? Still ned to shave if you use LS rotors too?
Thanks.

You can use the TT rotor but use the LS430 4 piston alluminum caiper. It is slimmer than the TT caliper and much lighter. Performance should be very similar and many Japanese brake pads available. YOu will need to modify backing plate and shave caliepr bracket 2mm but that's it. Otherwise bolts on. I don't have details of what is entailed yet. I'm waiting till Spring to do it. Do a search. It was discussed here and theer were pictures of Netz Toyota doing it.

Backing plate
Thanks Guru,
It all seems pretty clear, except for the backing plate. I'm not familiar with it. Does anyone have a pic of a backing plate, from any setup if not a GS or LS?
Do folks just use a grinding wheel to shave the calipers 2mm? What are the chances the L-tuned 18s will clear the LS430 calipers without shaving?
Thanks.
