Cool Brake Upgrade / Replacement – Part I

Brake Upgrade / Replacement – Part I

FIRSTLY, TOMTC was the extraordinary help today. I'd never tackled anything of this magnitude, and he definitely lead the way today.

Honestly, the work isn't that difficult, a few bolts really, just preparing is what takes the longest.

THANKS TOM!

---------------------------

Today marked the first surge forward in my attempt at upgrading my braking system with Brembo Cross-Drilled, Slotted, and Cadmium Plated rotors, and EBC Green Stuff pads.

This is a 4-corners upgrade.

Bundled within this upgrade, I am pulling the OEM calipers, having them powder coated a glossy black, and adding some ATE SuperBlue Fluid.

Today, the calipers came off.

HERE is the my Brake Page

HERE is my thumbnail page of todays ~60 pictures.

Check out he last ones with my GS looing like it's a 4WD version witha lift kit.

Be forewarned, the tnails link to full-size ~1mb pics.

I should have finished product & install pics in a couple weeks.

Enjoy!

I used a normal 3/4" socket... with a 4' piece of pipe.

For some strange reason the pics would not come up for me (the pics on the write up page).

Dex, how much did this upgrade cost you from Steve Ganz?
Brembo calipers, slotted, cross drilled etc? Please post very specific details on all the pieces you had to buy for this upgrade.

Also, would this upgrade fit in the OEM 17 inch chrome rims?
