Default Heavy steering

I'm looking for a way to lighten my steering. The car feels heavier than it should when turning the steering wheel. Does anyone have any solutions besides "weight reduction"?

Is your steering heavier than it should be, or heavier than you'd like?

If it's gotten heavier than it should be, that would indicate a power steering issue. Leaking from the pump is relatively common as these cars age.

its heavier than I think it should be. From what I can tell, there's no leak from the rack. My fluid levels are unchanged for the last 1400 miles and I've been under there a lot recently removing broken heat shields and trans and engine oil changes. After a 350 mile weekend to and from the beach it seemed a little heavy. Granted she was loaded with probably 300 more pounds than usual with my family and stuff for the weekend.
