Thermoquiet Front Brake Pads - not so quiet...any suggestions?
so i replaced the front brakes and rotors on our 07 IS250 AWD, with EBC rotors and thermoquiet brake pads.
everything went fairly smoothly until i got to the point of reassembling the pads w/ shims and backing plate.
it was almost like the OEM shims/backing plate "arms" that hug the pad didn't really "click" on or fit all that well on the pad, but was able to get them on there anyways.
I've also read now that some wagner TQ brake pads have built in shims, so would i have only needed to use the backing plate, and applied grease to the back of the pad on the "built-in shim" if it had one?
The brakes work fine, they're just squealing under lower speed or parking-lot type speeds.
Perhaps i didn't apply enough grease between the shim and backing plate?

well did some more reading, and it seems that wagner TQ brake pad's call for no lubricants to be applied to the brake pad, and i believe the shims are already "built-in" with the pad.
in this case, would it be ok to assume that i should pull em back out, clean all/any pad lube on the surfaces, and skip the oem IS250 shim and just go right to the backing plate?
current pad setup = Pad - OEM shim - OEM backing plate
planning to do = Pad - OEM backing plate (since the shim is already built in)
does this sound right?

I have the same brake pads, and mine are really dusty. My rims after a day of driving are covered in brake dust. I have bought some brake dust car wash stuff that is helping a lot and then this weekend im going to try and apply some Brake dust repellant stuff i bought and hopefully that will keep it to a minimum
