Tanabe NF210 vs Stock on Gen II GS
Need your suggestions on the best spring/shock combination for a 2003 GS300 that gives a better than factory ride as I don't think the factory ride is that good. It rides like a truck in comparison to my 2001 530i. I am not trying to start a feud by comparing the two, but I drive both of these regularly and want to try to get the ride on the GS more like the BMW.
The stock springs seem extremely firm and I want to find something that is more progressive, gives that 1-2" soft cushion thing really tightens up.
It has 161K on the factory suspension and I want to lower it ~1.5" in Front and 1" in back. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

First, if your 2001 530i is riding so much better than your GS, then chances are something is a miss with your suspension, i.e. worn dampers, worn bushings, etc.
These GS cars ride like a dream in stock form when everything is functioning normally.
Next, the NF210 springs have a rate very close to stock and will drop you about as much as you require. I had them and was pretty happy overall, but eventually went coilover since I wanted to really drop the car.

Thanks! I appreciate the information. When I do the classic "bounce the car to check the shocks", all the shocks appear intact, maybe it is the bushings or other suspension components. Again thanks for the reply.
