Default Assistance with removal of OEM trac-link bushings

Hi guys,

I am hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.

I am attempting to remove the OEM trac-link bushings (I did the knuckle/carrier bushings today and everything went smooth - I pressed those out).

However, with the trac-link bushings, the dust shields are in the way and I don't see an easy way to remove those from what I can see with the rotors/calipers off.

Does anyone have any recommendations? The trac-link bushings don't have nearly as much working room as the carrier/knuckle bushings do. I can't press them out like I did the carrier/knuckle bushings since I don't have the room.

Hmm....that's a tough one. Maybe you would have to take off the dust shield, rotor, and the caliper to get to it. I do not see any other way that would work.

I don't mind removing the shields. Problem is I don't see an obvious way to get them off.

What's keeping those shields on?

I used a balljoint removal tool made by SPC. The c-clamp has an end on it that fits perfectly. You will also need a rattle gun.
Figs Engineering sell the tool from their website.

Hey man you dont need anything special. Just use an impact gun if you have if not just use a ratchet and a rubber mallet to break it loose. No special tool needed brother.

And take off the wheel sir. Makes it so much easier to work under there.

No need to be rude. I misread the thread and thought he was talking about the traction link itself and not the bushing. My fault.

I would just undo everything to get to the bushing. But from what I remember is the sheild is apart of the whole spindle I do believe.
