Default Picked up 02 Sport Design--- All bushings going under the knife Soon

I bought a 2002 onyx Sport Design this past weekend. On the way home, I felt the steering shaking and haven't examined the bushings yet, but assume that with 161k miles, it is a good time to replace them since I plan on keeping this car for a while.
My wive's 99 GS had steering vibration when we first bought it but an alignment and replacing the LCA #2 helped a lot.

For my car, I am getting with Jeff Tsai (thankfully) and he will be installing most of the little suspension components. Here is a list of everything I've bought so far. Let me know if you suggest anything else. ( Ignore the floor mats, I am just keeping a list of items which I replace as I own the car)

Front Left INNER Tie Rod
59.99 (4.29 tax)
Front Right INNER Tie Rod
59.99 (4.29 tax)
Front Left OUTER Tie Rod
33.99 (4.29 tax)
Front Right OUTER Tie Rod
33.99 (4.29 tax)
Front Left Ball Joint
61.99 (4.29 tax)
Front Right Ball Joint
61.99 (4.29 tax)
Steering Rack Bushings
31.56 (2.60 tax)
Floor Mats (Sport Design)
80.52 (6.64 tax)
Front Left Lower Control arms bushing
57.30 (no tax)
Front Right Lower Control arms bushing
57.30 ( no tax)
Front Left/Right UCA Bushings
89.17 (no tax)
Total: 627.79 Total Tax: 34.98 Total +Tax= 662.77

Thanks for the welcome.... Sorry, on the tax part, I just divided the total tax of my package by the number of items I ordered. It was kind of last second to make this price chart so I just did a non accurate shortcut to figure out how much went in tax and how much went into the part itself.

This particular order from Oreilly's was $311.94 plus 25.74 tax and it had 6 items in there
So in the future, I'm going to try to get all items from ebay to save on tax! (unless the shipping counteracts the tax saving).

I feel like a moron....... thankfully I bumped into MrJokesters thread where someone listed that they got the moog parts off Amazon for $22 bucks... That set a flag in my head to review the prices I paid because I sure don't remember paying 20 bucks for any part..
I got all my parts from Oreilly's and those are their prices above. After looking at amazon, I'll be returning my box of parts to oreilly's and ordering from amazon.. heres my new table (Rounded numbers to ease summing them up)

Front Left INNER Tie Rod
59.99 (4.29 tax) -----get from amazon for $37
Front Right INNER Tie Rod
59.99 (4.29 tax) -----get from amazon for $37
Front Left OUTER Tie Rod
33.99 (4.29 tax) ------ return and get from amazon for 20
Front Right OUTER Tie Rod
33.99 (4.29 tax) -----return and get from amazon for 20
Front Left Ball Joint
61.99 (4.29 tax)----- need to return, get from amazon for 33
Front Right Ball Joint
61.99 (4.29 tax) ----- need to return, get from amazon for 33

tax for the 6 items was 15

Check out Rockauto.com also. I ordered the same parts from them also for a little cheaper price. My total for the same parts you listed was 170 bucks with the shipping included. Check it out if you want to save a bit more.

Do you have to pay tax on Rockauto?

No tax on RockAuto unless you are in CA I belive.

I ordered Moog outer tie rods and ball joints for under $100.00. Do a google search for Rock Auto coupons. i think I found a $5.00 off one. I might suggest ordering solid poly steering rack bushings and the lower caster arm bushings from Sewell Lexus. They will last much longer than the factory rubber units.

So here we are, 2 months later and finally got the parts installed last weekend.. It took away my major clunking sound.... but I have a question which always comes up and I thought it was resolved but here goes:

DO MOOG BALL JOINTS COME PRE-GREASED?

I thought other threads said they did not but I texted Jeff last night and asked him if he greased the ball joints and he said they come Pre-Greased. But today I was curious so I lifted up the car and noticed that the Zerk fittings aren't installed and the boot of the ball joint doesn't feel like it has anything in there. So I assume they don't come pre-greased and I've been driving a week like that. Does anyone think that is going to cause them to fail prematurely??
This sucks after spending $400 in parts and $600 in labor

I had the same problem. Mechanic said they were greased, but when I changed my oil like 2 weeks later I hit them with a grease gun, and they took a LOT of grease, which leads me to believe A) some are in fact not pre-greased, and B) Just because they MIGHT be pre-greased, they may not have enough grease in them.

Yeah same here. I went to the part store, bought a pack of Zerk fittings, installed them, pumped a bunch of grease in them till it spewed out of the overflow hole. But I am hearing a pop or clunk noise when I turn the wheel sometimes. We'll see how long they hold up.

Blnco is correct, they are pre-greased, but not enough. You will need to add more grease to the Moogs.
