Please note that I purchased the one for the 1st gen GS3 because I have a 03 Sport Design which has beefier UCA than the non SD 98-05. It is however compatible with all 2nd gens.

That's interesting. This and the lower control arm #1 is the last thing to replace on the front.

Did you ever snap a pic of the two arms side by side?

Bushings and ball joint are likely the same. I can't confirm that however I'm sure they're the same. But the arm is noticeably larger.
