rolling on corners
I have a 99 GS300. I don't like the way it corners, not necessarily just the traction, but the fact that I feel my torso slides around in those seats whenever I turn.
Is this something I can fix with stiffer shocks (are the shocks on the outside of the car not stiff enough), suspension, or sway bars, or is it just that my seats are not bucket, and I will continue slide/sway around in my seat on turns,
Anyone else find this a problem?
Dave

Dave,
There are LOTS of suspension mods you can do to improve the handling of your GS. I'll find a couple of old discussions on the topic and post links for you here.
Try using the search feature for "suspension mod" and you'll find a wealth of information.
I'm also moving this post to the the approriate section (suspension and handling for GS).
Welcome to CL!

Hey, Dave!
Unfortunately, no suspension upgrades are going to make you slide less in your driver's seat. If anything, they will make you slide more, as the car will be able to corner better.
Some off-the-top-of-my-head suggestions:
1) Adjust your seat back to sink in a bit (deflate the center back). This will make the sides of the seat back stand out more and will provide more lateral support.
2) Tighten up you seatbelt.
3) This one is a may be: use a fabric cover on your seat that grips a little better than leather (especially if the leather has been treated by an oil treatment to prevent drying out - it will make it slick).
4) Wear clothes from some grippier material.
5) TO BE USED AS A LAST RESORT ONLY!!!!: Don't corner so hard as to slide in your seat .
