Just to clear something up for you that maybe you are not aware of fastvrod.
The original Front pads, is350 2006 - 2008, was part number 04465-30410.
These had the following issues (at least on my car):
1) VERY dusty
2) They sometimes squealed when very hot
3) They didnt last long (about 9K miles on my car)
4) They ate my rotors (formed a lip around outer edge on 2 sets of rotors)
Part number 04465-30400 was then subbed in and are used on the is350 2009 - 2010, they also fit in the 2006- 2008 (I have them now)
1) Vitally no dust
2) They dont squeal
3) They seem to last longer (Im already past 11K miles on them and there is still alot more)
4) NO rotor wear evident so far....
Only difference when I first put them in was the super grippy feel of the original in not there. I FELT that had had to hit the brakes harder, but that was just the feel, the car still stops just as quick..
Just thought you should know as I was unable to find solid feedback on after market pads when I was looking.

While on the topic is ceramic brake pads...I've always been under the assumption that ceramic pads wear more quickly and release more dust. My personal experience has shown this...but I only ever used Axxis/PBR Ultimates, which are a step below race pads. Would one assume that there are different types of ceramic materials that are used that make a ceramic pad differ one from another?

It all depends on the compound, usually the higher the friction coefficient the more they'll dust/squeal. I have centric Posi Quiet ceramic pads and no dust/noise but I used to run the Axxis ULT on my old 350Z track car and they used to dust like crazy and squeal but nothing too bad, specially compared to cold Hawk DTC-60s (full track pads)
When I had the Axxis pads I never heard any squealing; perhaps it had to do with running slotted rotors?
I might have to try those Posi Quiets, but do they have a good initial "bite"? I'm more consider with braking "feel" than anything. I HATE the StopTech Streets I'm running now, they never feel like they grip good until they get good and warm.
Where in SC you from Evil?

I wash my car weekly, so brake dust doesn't bother me right now. But I'm still on OEM 18s. Perhaps if on some nice aftermarket wheels I'll tend to care more. Lol!

The posi-quiets have the perfect bite for a DD imo, good initial bite without being too grabby.
I'm in Beaufort, you?
