ls400 calipers vs supra tt calipers
There is a great price difference between the ls400 calipers vs the supra calipers. My question is what is the difference between stopping power?

Supra's Rotors are directionally vented too
I'm a fan of the LS400 front calipers over the Supra TT. LS400 calipers weight 1-3rd to 1/2th as much because they are full AL unlike the Supra TT which are half Fe. Rotors are sightly smaller at 12.4" v 12.7" which means you'l get brake fade slightly sooner but your off the line acceleration will be better. LS400s are visually more appealing.
I've personally driven both and unless you can get a great deal on Supra TTs the LS400s are the way to go. I'd rather spend the cash savings on getting TT rears. Having only a front BBK gives a messed up brake bias feel IMO. Speaking of which the rear bias of LS400 front & TT rear is a nice upgrade.

LS400 calipers are a GREAT bang for the buck. Love the look of the caliper and I LOVE the weight savings over the TT brakes, BTW, I have a set of LS400 4 pot front calipers that I am selling. $175 shipped with decent pads. email me for info: draytonwebb@yahoo.com

yeah, I was able to do the front LS400 mod for around $300 which beat the heck out of what the TT set-up costs. It was worth every penny! I am still looking into doing a Rear TT brake upgrade though....it's just that the TT stuff is so damn pricey.

CarboTech Racing/Auto-CrossBrake Pads for SC 400 and 99-00 SC300
If anybody is interested I have a set of Carbon-Ceramic Front Brake pads (AX-6) compound.
I had these custom made by Carbotech for my SC400 . My car is gone now but I had two sets made and still have one new box left. Carbotech makes racing brake pads for many SCCA racers and they are comparable to HAWK and PFC racing compounds- not the off the shelf junk sold by the auto parts stores.
Google Carbotech and e-mail me if interested at: mmrracing@msn,com
These pads make a huge difference in bite and don't fade at high temps even with stock SC400 brake calipers.
