dampening Vs spring rate???
hey guys, i have looked all over at tons of posts and i have a grasp on the difference but still have a question and need advice.... i have 2000 gs300 with megan LP coils and have about 1- 1.5 gap...on 20" so not super low.. rides fine BUT the front right tire rubs on dips in road not bumps so much... but occasionally. i read in some threads that if it rubs on dips the spring rate is off and to not tighten up damp to make it not rub??? how do i adjust spring rate or should i roll the front right side and just leave it? thanks i though the spring rate is set for my car from factory.... ?? thanks guys

I'm guessing your current wheel setup is wider than the stock 16s. If the tires are rubbing against the fender, then have it shaved or rolled. The springs on the Megan coils are not too stiff so there will be some compression going on when you go through the dips and that's expected.

*^^ What GSteg said. Also make sure your springs were installed with the correct pre-tension. My installer had too much tension on the springs ( he must have messed with them to adjust ride height, duh). I had to readjust the perches so the spring pretension was at Megan specs (all this info is on the Megan website under (installation). Plus they would've burned out much quicker. Luckily I figured this out the day after they were installed.
I ride 16 clilcks in the front and 14 clicks in the rear from stiffest and am happy with it.
