Default RCA question

Are RCA required to run LS400 BBK setup and all BBK like Rotora, brembo etc.. .. I thought that RCA were only for really lowered cars.. THanks

It's not required for the LS400 brakes. Alternatively, you can shave off a bit of the tie rods' threads. RCAs just happens to work if you dont' want to do any shaving. I don't ever recall anyone needed RCAs to fit other brakes setup though, just the LS400. In any case, i'm running 0.5" RCAs and the caliper barely clears.

Because without it, the LS400 calipers will hit the tie rod bolt. When you add in RCAs, you're essentially adding more clearance.

well...the RCA is also suppose to correct "suspension geometry" for lowered vehicles....which may be the reason for early lower ball joint problems.

Yup! The added clearance is just an added bonus for those who want LS400 calipers
