Default supra mkiv struts vs sc300 struts?

hey guys, i did some searching and found out that supra struts actually sit .7" lower? Im guessing its the perch that give it that .7" drop... my question is this fact true?

my car isnt a race car but i do drive it spirited. i was thinking about doing espilers on OEM supra shocks or supra bilsteins.

but now i also found out that the rear springs sit different as the perch is different. so is it true i cant interchange scX00 lowering springs to supra shocks or vise versa?

thanks!

See my thread on what to expect when you fool with this. Also, all springs are sold in sets of 4 so either all Supra stuff or all SC stuff. No reason to mix / match.

yeah i read your thread. but im sure it doesnt happen in all cases depending on your setup

but you misunderstood.
i wanted to mix match sc300 springs [set of 4] with supra shocks [set of 4] or vise versa. not 2 on 2.

Nope, won't fit. Have to match springs to struts in question. It will lower the car some if you just stick with stock Supra stuff.

Costs the same either way unless you stick with stock struts, even then it's a bad idea to put new lowering springs on OEM.

thanks randy for the info.

would you have pictures on the perch of the mkiv struts? whats the difference? that one has a seat while the other is flat?

and i never said i was gonna put "new" springs, not to mention i was planning to get blistiens if i went with new springs. Im sure your just giving me the heads up though

I'll look under the car when I get back home, if I remember correctly it's just the fully extened strut length that's the difference so if you do Supra springs and SC struts you risk spring float. Wouldn't surprise me I didn't need to compress the spring much to get the hats on.

Oh, and the whole reason I'm hurting now was I followed the threads here, everyone said it was a good idea for the Supra struts and springs move.

Guess I'm pickier than most.

Stay tuned
