Wheel Alignment and Camber Adjustment
I was quoted $320 by a local reputable shop for a camber adjustment and wheel alignment. Is this a good deal? Should I spend a little more and go with a camber kit or just do the adjustment? Thoughts?

I have an '06 IS 350. If you're in the SGV, the place I took it was Bear Wheel & Alignment in Rosemead on Garvey Avenue.
They told me that it would run me about $600 for the rear kit and another $600 for the front if I were to buy a separate camber kit. That's way too much to spend, and plus, I don't think the Eibach pro kit throws my camber off that much....it's a pretty conservative drop, 1" in front and .8 in rear. Will I notice a difference in how the car rides if I do this camber adjustment?

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the camber is adjustable on our IS. So the shop will only be adjusting the toe. You will need a camber kit for a proper adjustment. You might as well just get the kit then get the whole suspension tune.

Yeah i agree with Lexy!! I think our IS only needs cambers for the rear. But on a inch drop like yours (scalum1994) I think a alignment will be just fine. (correct me if i'm wrong) Thats what I been told. I dont think they make cambers for the 08's yet, if they do can someone tell me where to get the kit.

the guy at the alignment shop was saying something about the stock camber adjustment bolt and grinding a hole in the arm which would allow for more camber adjustment. has anyone done this? is this safe?

there are no camber kits for the 2is. iirc, camber can not be adjusted.
also, lowering springs for the 2is will not alter the camber. case in point, i'm on s-techs and my camber is actually within factory specs.
iirc toe in/out is actually what causes the aggressive uneven tire wear.
scalum1994> ygpm.

No it is not safe. I wouldn't do this on my dog's lawnmower. It sounds like this guy has no clue about our suspension. It's not a strut suspension, so he'd be grinding an oblong hole in the subframe. If the solution included installing an adjustment cam along with the oblong hole, then I'd say great, but if it's purely making the hole into a slot with nothing to positively hold the bolt's position, then your alignment will slip over time and not be what you paid for.
