Upgrade Stock Tires/Wheels GS300 '01
Anyone recommend upgrading the stock 215/60-16's to 235/55-17's? Will this affect my warranty? I am trying to get better performance and looks (by filling out the wheel wells more).
I am thinkging about Dunlop Sport A2s or Dunlop 5000s? What brand would you recommend for all-season performance?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to CL. Upgrading tires/wheels will make marked difference in your handling with little deterioration in ride comfort. However, I believe that you'll be needing 235-45/17s instead of 235-55/17s. Both tire choices have been spoken of favorably. You might go to TireRack.com; they will have information and reviews from both TireRack testers as well as customers.
It shouldn't affect your warranty, but service depts do vary in how they feel about mods. The consensus pretty much has been that suspension stuff usually passes the test, mechanicals (intakes, etc) less likely to.

Mooretorque is, once again, on the money. Going to the lower profile 17s will definately improve your handling. I would also consider a 245/45 17 in addition to the 235/45s. The stock 17s will comfortably handle the 245s.
Can't see this being a warranty problem since the GS4s are offered with the 17s as an option.
As for tire preference, I'm sold on the Michelin Pilot XGTs. Had them on my GS400 and loved them. Others have praised the Toyos. Both are performance tires and neither are the "quietest" around. Depends on what criteria you value most in the new tires.

I have a set of Dunlop SP 5000s 225-55/16 on my GS3. They are VASTLY superior to the Goodyears. Handling has improved, especially in the rain. I've not had any snow experience with these yet.

Thanks for the advice. My concern is that: will 245's cause any rubbing on stock GS300s that I should be worried about? Anyone experience any issues?
What about looks? Do these seem to fill out the wheel wells better than stock?
