OK, I'll try that later then to see if it does anything. The person I bought this from said he didn't have any issues without jacking up the car or anything.
That seemed to have done the trick. Just needed the jack up the front end, then push down on the suspension so the bolts aren't poking through. Then put on the STB and then put the shocks back through the holes.
Btw - I thought the GS400 was supposed to have the greatest clearance? It barely clears. Maybe the thickness of a quarter? It'll prob even lower some more after driving. And this is with the stock spacer on.
wow- thanks for bringing this to my attention... did you guys have better luck jacking the car up from the middle/front or one of the sides? i had just tried jacking up either side and it didnt help at all...
That is weird because on both my wifes car and mine.(both 99 gs400)
there was no need to jack the car up at all.
Bar go's on and off with ease.
I wonder if it is because we have 17" wheels?
I don't know if that makes any difference.
Nah wheels doesn't make any difference. I guess it was just the way the shock bolts were angled. They come off and on the car pretty easy now, or easier.
