Default Daily Driver Needs Best Bang for the Buck

I drive my 2001 GS430 around Las Vegas with all the usual bumps/roadwork/etc.

I NEED HELP!

I need a suspension setup that is the BEST VALUE for my daily driver needs.

When I purchased my car I replaced the shocks with Bilstein Sports and they took away float but are very very very firm.

I've heard all the talk of Tein CS/L-tuned etc.

What is truly the best bang for the buck???

Get original shocks I drive in boston, worst roads in country 40000 miles a year and just did mine huge improvement as the stocks only last 60000. E-mail Daryl Diller @ Sewell Lexus and he will sell you the fronts as a set for like $120. Ask him about the rears as well and get the spring insulators and rubber stops as they will quiet everything up. If you want a lower ride than just get l-tuned springs or TTE. On another note put in some new sway bushings and this will make an improvement as well. If you ever need brakes get Brembo replacement rotors and Akebono ceramic pads. Make sure you buy the brake fit kit from lexus-parts.com to get rid of the awful popping noise that you may experience. Rotors and pads are priced really cheap @ ******************.com. Good luck

You made no mention of your budget. The obvious choice would be the Tein CS for their superior adjustability and for the closest ride to stock you can have.

Question Same quesion and more...

Okay so, i just bought my 01 430 from my dad, it has 85,000 on stock suspension i believe. I would like to lower it a little, nothing too drastic because i go to college where the roads suck hard core.

Don't have the money for the tein cs Really wish i did though.

Need best options for spending around 500 either installed or someting i could do the install myself. (Or a couple of beers to anyone on here that would be interested in helping me )

It rides pretty rough / bouncy with a lot of float right now so pretty much anything would be an improvement i'm sure.

I have the same question posted in another thread:

I want to know what should/probably needs to be replaced on the GS at between 85k and 100k miles with regard to suspension and steering parts. I've got 100k right now and my ride is crap.

I'm willing to go for the Tein CS if I can later upgrade to '06 OEM 18" wheels with no problems (eg. rubbing, etc.).
