Default Seeking spring/susp advice

I just picked up my new to me 03 GS430 yesterday - 22k miles. I am looking to upgrade the suspension, but want to keep it comfortable. Ideally, I wanted to purchase L-tuned springs - but they are no longer available. What is the next best alternative that is still available? I don't want to go with coilovers because I will never adjust them, and think its overkill for my application. I spoke to Lou at Carson, and he suggested the factory Lexus SP edition springs, which run right at $400 for the set. He didnt have the exact specs on them, but thought they would be very similiar to the L-tuned. Any members with experience with these springs?
.
I am also getting a set of Daizen sways.
.
This is my daily driver, with roughly 30 miles of highway driving each way. I am not looking for an ultra suspension, just tight without being bone jarring. I am keeping the factory 17"s for now.
.
Any other pieces I should consider? I have read lots of threads about chasis braces, and know their benefits from my experience with my supercharged Miata - much moreso in a convertible. Any of those make a big difference?
.
Thanks in advance.

Go with a set of Tein CS coilovers and call it a day. I wish I would have done that but I went with the L-tuned shocks and springs without knowing any better . You have a chance to make the right choice. Buy the CS coilovers.

Just noticed this on the classified forum. If you want to go with springs/shocks.

Thanks for the link - too low though.

As far as the coilovers go - Springs for $200 to $400 or coilovers for $1,250 - no percieved difference on my part other than the $1,000 tariff. I just do not see the need to spend that much. I would never use them as intended - I would NEVER touch the ride height. I am not replacing the shocks, with only 22k miles, I think I am fine for quite a while. I want to find a spring that drops right about 1" and isn't too stiff.

Nonetheless, I do appreciate your input...

Well since you are not going to drop it much, I understand. I am not real sure which springs you could buy to drop it only 1" or so. The L-tuned springs would be perfect for you but they are hard to find. Try posting a WTB on the classified forum. Good luck.

I'm far from expert on the subject but I wonder if performance springs with stock shocks is the best idea, usually they're changed together. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable (swing a dead cat and you'll find one) could weigh in on that.

Btw Eibach springs might suit your needs.

Oh, and BTW, I know of people who swap springs but keep stock shocks (this is on German sedans), and they ride just fine. A bit stiffer, that's all.

Yes the Tanabe might be another good choice, the NF stands for Normal Feeling which should be very close to stock, but they might be a bit lower than he's looking for, more like 1 1/4" than the 1" drop he mentioned. From what I hear the Tanabe does ride really nice tho, maybe the extra 1/4" is worth it.

yea it does sit a bit lower - my friend has them though and loves it and he's using his stock shocks might be a good way to go, plus they're pretty inexpensive
