Cool Sticky Caliper :-( ... Justification for a TT bbk upgrade :-)

I have been long saving my pennies to upgrade the rear brakes since the rotors barely have any thickness left to it. However, now Im going to have to upgrade the fronts instead because it seized all of a sudden.

Starting a couple days ago, the car makes a faint clunk noise everytime I accelerate it from a stop. I thought it was the coilovers making the noises and ignored it. Today, I noticed that the car oddly pulls slightly to the left and makes a burnt smell. When I got out and checked the engine and the entire car, the smell emanated from the front passenger side brakes and the wheel was super hot! Problem diagnosed Moreover, Im a bit worried because I hope that the heat wont damage the finish on the face of the wheels.

Now I have two options: 1. Repair the useless OEM setup 2. Upgrade with the TT setup. Im going with the latter

If you upgrade with a BBK, will your new wheels clear?

If they do, it's a no brainer. Do it.

I got them remanufactured for $96.99 each. The shim kit # 0494514110 is $24.75 and the fitting kit is 0494714010 is $19.61. I did try promise myself that I wont spend much more money on this car after the coilovers.... Boy am I wrong

Are you referring to TT brakes here or your stock sc ones?
I need shims for my LS brake upgrade and I don’t want to spend the 64 dollars at the dealer...
If these are for the TT, where are you getting these prices from?

TIA

All of these prices are for the TT. The mounting kit and shim can be found at any dealer
