Question Turning OEM Rear Rotors

Guys-

Need some input. My rear pads are toast and need replacing. I caught them in time before they did the rotors damage. Car is parked for the short term.

Rotors measure at 11.56.

#1 is there still enough rotor left to have them turned and be within spec??

#2 my supposed trusty mechanic states that OEM rotors are difficult to turn as they often end up with an uneven surface after being turned and ultimately need replacing.

Any truth to that last statement?? Can anyone chime in with their expierences on turning OEM rotors and their respective results??

Thanks in advance-

Doug
