Brake Help!!!!
just installed slotted cross-drilled rotors , axis brake pads, and goodridge stainless steel lines........everythings works fines....but my rear left rotor is sometimes scraping the dust shield...and making this irritating noise....i have a 2000 GS3.....has anyone CL encounter this problem b4????HOW DO I FIX IT???CAN I REMOVE the brake dust shield???THANXS!!!!!

The rotor is "true" on the rear hub bearings. Meaning, there should be no play in the rotor when installed. Can you see where the rotor is hitting the shield? Suspecting the shield is bent a little outward, toward the rotor, can you see where the scraping has taken the paint off. Mount a couple of lugnuts on the rotor while checking, holding it like the wheel. If the play is still there, the hub bearings are bad.
There aren't many variables with this clearance. If the rotor still contacts, you may have installed the wrong size rotors. The backplate should never be removed, it protects the brake caliper and disk.
Did you grease the pads backs, slider and shims with caliper grease? The OEM shims are used with any brand pad brand. Did they cleanup ok prior to installing on the pads?
Lastly, if you have ABS, and replaced the brake lines, how did you bleed the pump?
