L-Tuned steering ECU results
Just got done putting this in my GS400 and I definetly notice a difference. Not a huge improvement but noticeable. Only took 20 minutes to install Unfortunately, murphys law states that I cannot work on my car without cutting myself and this was no exception, as I scraped up my hand trying to get at the bolt holding the ECU in.
Maybe one day I will get around to buying some mechanics gloves.....

A couple of ECU trivia bits:
-Don't mix up the old with the new ECUs , there's no conclusive way to tell which is which since the PN markings are the same. The serial numbers are different, but it doesn't say which one is which. Hopefully the old one will be a little dusty so you can tell when you do the install. This also makes it hard to trust someone selling a used ECU.
- The 2001 up- GS300/430 salready have this upgrade stock, so this mod is only for older gs3/4's only.

First time I've heard of a blue one. Almost everyone has a stock one in brown. The proper way to identify any automotive part is by a part number and in the case of this ECU, they did not do that. There's plenty of us that have looked into this and to date have not positively identified a way to tell the difference.

Not sure what of the above, if any is the actual part number but those were the only numbers on the thing.

The part number is molded into the plastic. It's harder to notice cause it is the same color as the plastic. I checked back and there was atleast one other ECU reported to be blue, but most are brown.
PN is 006444-89650-001
The other numbers are stamped, but everyone who has reported numbers had something different. There was no common matching of numbers between all the ECUs we looked at. I can tell that some of the numbers will differ because they indicate the year of the car and possibly whether it is a GS 300 - 400 or 430. So that confuses things further.
Once side of the ECU has printed info:
TOYOTA
89650-30570
078300-0982
12V
DENSO
MADE IN JAPAN
Several people have reported the other side of the L-Tuned as :
10U
22
A56
or
11S
17
A93
or
13C
23
A66

Hopefully I can find one and get it in my car and see if it makes a difference.
But I could save $130 and use that money for a new spoiler. This just would have made teh decision a little easier.

oh and the only way? gosh, tough.... i have gs400 for a long time, maybe i should get a gs430 and put on all the same mods and see how it is, and then put on the ecu and see if there is any difference
