i believe just the springs and shocks. no way you will need to touch the arms, and i highly doubt if you get new hats

When changing your springs/shocks, it's a good idea to replace the following as well:

FRONT SUSPENSION

a. upper insulator (includes rubber boot) $17 (so the new spring seats properly and so you don't have to worry about the boot ripping a few years down the road)

If the you suspect the front hats (aka strut mount insulator) are out, you can purchase new ones for $62, but they are unlikely out unless they are currently making a clunking noise.

REAR SUSPENSION

a. upper seat spring cushion $4 (#17; so the new spring seats properly)
b. upper spring cushion $5 (#19 in pic)
c. lower spring cushion $7 (#20 in pic)

They wouldn't replace the above parts--why? They would have to take the whole thing apart (basically at the labor rate for changing springs and shocks, and also would have to realign it). It's just an "inspection" afterall--the techs probably look at each corner for 30 sec, look for leakage, any bending, any tears, etc., and call it good.

The above suspension parts should be good for each original spring/strut installation, and I really woudn't worry about just changing them for the purpose of just changing them individually at 60k/90k etc., unless:

1. I was changing out my suspesion for newer shocks/springs (like some of the others above are doing) or. . .

2. There was an obvious problem with my suspension (leakage from the shock, a blown shock, torn shock boots, damaged shock rods, faulty shock tower (aka strut mount insulator), etc.)

Are you changing out your suspension? If not, I wouldn't go through the hassle and cost of changing those sole 8 parts. However, if you are changing out your suspension or are going to replace your shocks, then I would buy the parts.

SeattleGS400,

You're the man!

I think you just answered my question here

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...hreadid=128801

Do you think the "rubber boot" I'm talking is the same one you mentioned?

Thx.
