Dealer Distress (L of Austin)
So I'm not sure how we all feel about our dealership in Austin.. I don't mind the dealership much, the people there are quite nice...
But I had my first oil change in the new car there... made the mistake of agreeing that I want the "50,000 servicing" which is the fancy way of saying "oil change + x200 the cost" (Paid $220...)
So that's a shame... a full synthetic oil change should never cost half of that... plus, I'm pretty certain they use Castrol oil... I'm a fan of Mobil 1 products..
I've read on here that many people bring their own oil, and tell them they want an oil+filter change, definitely a good way of doing it...
However, they returned my car with some slight damage to the steering wheel, which I'm not sure how this resulted... I've contacted them about it, going in tomorrow and dropping off the car so they can have their "leather specialist" look at it... they say it's an easy fix, who knows. It's about a quarter inch wide, four inches long, looks like the coils of a binder almost on the steering wheel..
Pretty disappointed that I paid $220+ and they not only took me to the cleaners, but it's good that they're going to fix the issue... who knows.
Just a heads up for anyone who drops their car off for servicing here, maybe check everything carefully when you get your vehicle back.. this definitely was not there before, I use zaino on all my leather surfaces, I know where all the leather imperfections (natural) are on the wheel and car...
Will provide an update after getting the car back from being fixed...
It's about twice as long as visible in the photos... sorry about the poor quality, phone cameras are awesome.

Maybe bad luck? Either way, got the vehicle back, no worries, they sanded it down or repaired it somehow, looks perfect again. Needs a lot of leather conditioning now though, they definitely stripped the leather of that!
Also as a heads up, I'm very pleased with how all of this was handled, I brought the car back in, and without any issue they had it replaced without any fuss at all. I'm very pleased with L of Austin and will be returning many times in the future.
They repaired my car efficiently, professionally, and it looks new.
