I notice that the site speed has significantly improved over what it usually is/was. Hopefully this is a permanent improvement, and thanks to the site administration for making it useable!

IB did some significant late evening maintenance over the last two weeks, hopefully made some updates to improve performance. I've been on mobile most of the last couple of weeks so haven't noticed but good to hear!

I know this has been asked a lot but why doesn't CL use Tapatalk? I use Tapatalk for many other forums and it has been flawless. Is it because there is some sort of fee to use Tapatalk? Or the forum is not built to be accessible with Tapatalk?
IB app is very slow and laggy. And it crashes a lot on my Android phone.

smoky, yes there is a fee but as I understand it there are some security/privacy concerns as well. IB is constantly working on improving their forum browser app so please start a thread with specific feedback when you encounter issues with it

Well, it's slowed back down for me. I also have issues with some threads showing another page at the end, even when I'm on the last page. I'm also having issues with threads not being marked as unread.
I can only imagine how hard it must be to keep a site running for such a massive active user base, and I wonder if performance could be improved a bit by removing some unnecessary features and caching some things a bit better.
For example, when I use my back button to load a page, nothing is cached at all and the whole page is reloaded. On some other forums that I use, I have to manually reload the page to update the thread counters and unread icons.
It's also possible that there are other plugins or modifications that aren't scaling well, that might need to be tweaked or removed. In any case, good job keeping the site going.
