Bluetooth "call in progress" erroneously displayed
I see this discussed years ago on earlier models but not on the ES350. When I start my car, about a third of the time the radio will go off after a few seconds and "call in progress" is displayed. I have iPhone 6 with ios 10.2.1. It does not show a call in progress, nor in the call history. The only thing that works is to turn off the phone, which immediately disconnects the "call in progress." Very frustrating, especially since I don't know if this is a Lexus issue or an Apple issue. Has anything been determined? Posts about this problem go back 5-7 years or earlier. I'd at least like to know who to call!

I've been on this forum for four years and have never heard of anyone with this issue. What year ES do you have?

It's a phone issue. Do a hard reset and I also suggest reboot your phone every few days to avoid future issues. iPhones do weird things when they're rarely rebooted.

Thanks for the replies. I have a 2013 ES350. I am new to the forums, but I searched for Bluetooth Call in Progress and found a number of discussions about this dating back several years. And I reboot my phone every time this happens (at least once every couple of days), but the problem persists. Any other thoughts?

Lead Lap
It seems that most issues reported on this forum with the Bluetooth part of the electronics in the ES cars are with the Apple phones. If you have a friend with an Android give it a shot and see what happens. If it reoccurs then you know it's not the phone...

I have a 2014 ES and an iPhone 5. I've not had any problems. I hop in the car and the Lexus connects to my phone. My wife has an older iPhone 3GS and it connects fine for her, also. Even my iPad connected once, to play music on a trip before I got my USB music stick.
The only funny thing I see is if I don't have my phone with me, then when I pull up to a stop light, some random cars phone will try to connect to my ES, 'cause the Lexus display will say something like, "Phone connect failed." I don't recall the exact words.
The OP issue is weird, and other than slightly older iPhones, I've not had any problems like that.
For what it's worth.

This happened to me
Had this happen once with an Iphone 6 about a month or so ago. The car is fairly new to me and I think I was trying to figure out the best configuration of using Enform versus bluetooth apps on the phone. I was also trying to use voice commands like Siri via the phone's home button. The car got confused and had an ongoing "Call in Progress" status. When I restarted the car, the same message came up "call in progress" which was puzzling that it would continue. Anyway, I turned off the bluetooth on the phone, got out of Enform app - basically disconnected the phone from the car and might have turned the car off. When I connected again everything was fine. Hasn't happened again.
There is a specific sequence that messed up the car's infotainment. I don't remember what mine was at this point, but it was rare enough that it hasn't happened again.
