Detailing at Lexus dealer?
Hey guys. I am planning to bring my 14 gs350 to a Lexus dealer for detailing my car. Has anybody done detail your car at Lexus dealer? Did they do a good job? Here is the link:

No, No and No again! The worst thing you can do is have the dealer detail your car if you care about having it done the right way! I'm sure others will chime in soon to answer your question.

I understand that not all dealers are the same, but the odds are not in your favor. We work on many cars throughout the year that have been damaged as a result of dealership detailing. Just have a look at brand new cars on the showroom floor and you will likely see scratches and swirl marks all over them... this is a sign of what will happen to your car.
If they are buffing your paint, you will likely encounter holograms which may not be apparent initially if they were covered up with a wax or glaze, but will become visible as the wax or glaze wears away.
Here are some good examples.....

Sure you can hang a "Do Not Wash" tag outside your vehicle, but just not possible when Lexus dealership picks up your car.
I think the best way is to not only put a tag (inside the vehicle if picked up by Lexus dealership) but also make sure it already is clean inside out. That way there is no need for them to wash it. This is what I've always done with my better half's Lexus car.

If I go to the dealer, I always take a clean car... and I always hang signs inside (4 total)... yet twice now they have tried to take it through the wash. I'm not one to call people names, but some of the people there are... special.

My Lexus dealer (Park Place) does a commendable job in detailing, but purely personal reason, I choose to do it myself. I'm a little more...particular in the type of cloths/soap I use for my car, and particularly wax that I put on my Lexus. I'm not as good in doing the interior so at times I'll have the interior detailed/shampooed because I'm not as adept in doing the interior but for the exterior I actually enjoy doing the detail myself; its 2-3 hours of just me time.

Hey aw001! Yeah please let me know if you get a good result at Pristine Detail. Another good detailer I know is Glisten Detailing, he works with Tint Pros in New Brighton. I have not contacted him for a price yet.

I recommend doing a search on google to see your choices and read the reviews. Usually, the smaller guys are more honed in on their skills even though they might be working out of their garage

So i got my car back 2 days ago. They did a good job and i would recommend them.
I had paint correction and ceramic coating placed. Pricing are also reasonable. Do wish they place more transparent pricing on their website but i suppose they need to see conditions of the car being worked on before coming up with quotes.
When i was there, some of the cars being worked on that i saw was 2005 lamborghini, 2017 porche macan, lexus RC F, audi S4, etc. They certainly have been working on high end cars...
