2013 RX 350 F-Sport - New Owner - Questions/ Possible Problems
Hey Everyone!
Just purchased a 2013 Lexus RX350 F-Sport with 92,000 km on it.
So far I love the car except for a few small things I've noticed.
1) This will likely only be F-Sport related as it's to do with the Sport Mode or Sport Shift Mode. When I'm in Sport Mode using the paddles to shift, they are sometimes NOT responsive. For example, they will not shift gears unless I hit them 2 or 3 times on an upshift. This doesn't happen often, maybe 10% of the time, but when it does it's super annoying because you end up revving high and not shifting gears. This quirk is NOT speed related, so it's not an instance where I'm going too slow for the next gear to be selected.
2) Has anyone noticed a creaking sound from the rear suspension when stopped and pressing the brakes?
Thanks!

I've never had a delay when using my paddle shifters. Are you fully depressing them? Just a thought.
I also don't have any creaking sounds from the suspension while stopping. I've had my brakes make a bit of noise when I release them to start moving again, but this is due to age of my pads/rotors.

My shifts are crisp and very quick. I would have it checked out. I'm at 60k, thats close to 100k km and still like i picked it up yesterday. What you can do is try an old trick, unplug the battery to do a reset. Otherwise it sounds more like programming/paddle issue. If you are experiencing normal shifts in auto mode.
2. I second that most likely be brakes. Rotors were most likely resurfaced a few times.

Congrats on your RX F Sport, IME the shifts have been fine when using the paddles which in all honestly I don't use to often in the RX. As for the creaking from the rear, are you also getting this sound going over bumps at low speeds such as speed bumps?
We have a 2015 RX F Sport which had this sound since new, and it turned out that the bushings in the rear trailing arms had play in them which was causing the sound. So they were replaced and the noise is gone, my SA told me it's a common problem.
BTW it took two trips to one dealer who IMO couldn't be bothered and kept telling me nothing was wrong. And then finally my third trip was to another dealer who was able to correct it.

We just got out 2013 F Sport a week ago
still trying to figure out everything, bought at a new dealership and I don't think the salesman knew all that much about 2013s
our 2000 3 series has a normal , sport , and a shift mode, does the Lexus have a sport mode that hold the shift points long without using the paddles ?
What are " Enform apps" people are writing about ?
what size rims does everyone use for winter ?
Any info would be great

Enform is accessed through the navigation system under apps. If you don't have navigation, then I don't believe you have access to them. I actually run the factory rims in winter and just purchased 19 in. snow tires. It's been working fine.

in response to the sound you mentioned, i think its a very common lexus thing.. mine has the sound when slow speed hard braking..it used to have a clicking sound when i reverse. that was fixed by the dealer when they replaced the rear brake discs.. the car also makes pretty loud click when you release foot brake... sometimes on hill or uneven surface, very loud "thund" sound when you shift from P to R/N/D... all was said to be common complaints from lexus dealer.
