Default 2006 IS350 PCV valve replacment with pictures

2006 IS350
136,000 miles
Original PCV valve. Car is burning oil. I'm hopeful this might help. Will see.

With a 19mm crowfoot wrench, the bracket (10 mm bolt) right next to the PCV valve is the only part you need to remove.

From the looks of it, can't you just clean that PCV valve? It's just that metal thing? Did you replace the hose as well?

Just curious, my low oil light went on a few weeks ago after owning the car for 20k miles, it wasn't that low nor am I worried but now I'm thinking I should look into the PCV as well lol, especially since it seems easy

Yes you can just shoot some brakekleen in there and clean it out. Shake it back and forth to see if it works still. But a lot of people just put a new one in since it's only 10$. Might as well if you're putting in the hassle of removing the old one already.

Exactly! So cheap, why not replace it.

Yours had considerably more build-up on the PCV and the port itself. But I can say I've replaced mine at 60k and 104k miles, so it'll be noticeable cleaner I guess.

Yeah, did mine this past weekend, currently @ 70K miles. Mine looked a lot cleaner, than that. Could have definitely just cleaned it and re-installed.

Any follow up on this?? I've been having oil burning issues as well. Would like to know if this helped at all.

Did not help for me. Still burning 1 quart every 600 - 1000 miles.
