Noticed something odd about gas
Hi all,
Noticed something that has happened a few times in the two years i've had my Lexus. I have a full tank, it goes down to about halfway to three-fourths line. I fill it up again. The next tank seems to burn way faster, then normal. I probably got 250 miles out of that tank. Could it be running richer due to overfilling?
Thanks in advance!

I wish it was a figment. But I run the same route every weekend. Only time it does this, is when I fill it again before it reaches quarter tank. Give it a try. On a specific mile marker, every weekend, the gas needle dips to a certain point; this is if I fill all the way up from less than half.
If I fill up at the 3/4 mark,I make it halfway to the mile marker and my needle is below said certain point.
Also, the fuel rangenis significantly impacted.
Wish I could document this somehow, it's almost like a plane dumping extra fuel.

I get an average of about 300+ per tank. Trying to think of a methodical and logical way I can document this. Have had many cars, and never had the gas drain so fast after filling up again. Like I said it only occurs if I fill up again before reaching the 3/4 mark.
This mile marker is at the exit for my military unit, and during a normal fill up e.g. 1/4 to full. The needle barely sits under the full mark, when going to or passing it.
The days I run around town for work and reach approximately 3.7/4(needle a little above 3/4) and then fill up again to head to the unit and/or beyond. When I pass said mile parker mentioned, i'm at 3/4.
Same traffic conditions and weather and tire pressure each time. It's done this maybe 4-5 times.
I might have to gopro this whole journey and do timestamps with a atomic watch.
If I don't, if you guys think i'm crazy so will the dealership.

I think it may have to do with me living along the foothills. This car gets really low mileage whenever I'm climbing up. I got more miles per gallon whenever I stay in Vegas area when I had the 2015 GS350 F Sport.
