members please help! rear trunk piece
Hello, I got my rear re-tinted and was never noticed this before..
Open your trunk and look near the two hydraulic cylindrical posts on each side..
Could you guys let me know or take a picture of how yours looks?
For some reason, I feel like there is a piece missing where the gloss black bolt should be.
It is the same on the other side as well.
Please guys, let me know! I really do not want to drive all the way to the dealer just to look at another RX trunk!!
Thanks !!!!

I think you are right. Looking at you pic, it appears as though the area surrounding the bolt is painted metal? Hard to tell... Mine has a plastic shroud over it per my pic. It almost appears as though they left it off during the manufacturing process, or more likely work was done on it at the dealer and they left it off. I can't believe manufacturing would leave it off, but...

Thank you !!!
I believe there is supposed to be a matte grey plastic covering on top. It honestly doesn't look any different but I am going to the dealer to be sure.

I looked a little closer and mine looks just like the original poster. It's plastic but it was just painted very poorly. It's not metal. I wonder if some of the newer ones look better.

Looks ok to me, but the paint job could have been better. You should be able to tap it to verify that it is plastic. Also note the drain hole in the rear corner. Here's a picture of mine.

Dang. Mine must be painted badly. It is actually METAL not plastic. However, I went to the dealer and found a 16 RX loaner car and it was the exact same. Metal that is glossy and not painted perfectly. So, I am over it lol.
