Default Moonroof not retracting all the way back..

Can someone test this out for me on their car?

On my car, when I use the one-touch slide back function, the glass still has about an inch left to go. I can press the open bottom again and it'll go that final inch. Is this normal?

Thanks

Agree with the others that it is normal. The first position is intended to be as far open as it can go while avoiding too much wind buffeting. You have the option to go all the way back and accept more wind noise should you choose.

IIRC, you can set only the windows to open with the fob.

Yes this feature is normal, but I agree can be a bit annoying when you want the moonroof to retract all the way.

Does anyone know if you can CLOSE all the windows and moonroof with the keyfob, or is pulling the physical key out and turning it in the door handle the only way?

It looks like, with the windows rolling down, you can select to either tilt or slide the moonroof, but not leave it closed.

26. Open Windows with Elec. Key
When pressing the unlock button on the electronic key for 3 seconds:
□ The windows will not roll down. (Standard) = Off
□ All the windows will roll down. = On

27. Open windows warning*
When pressing the unlock button on the electronic key for 3 seconds to roll down
the windows:
□ The buzzer will not sound. = Off
□ The buzzer will sound. (Standard) = On
* Option #26 must be on.

28. Slide/Tilt Moonroof with Elec. Key
When option #26 is on, the moonroof can be programmed for the following:
□ Slide. (Standard)
□ Tilt.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification!

My wife's E90 does that same thing. I haven't tested it on the GS, but on the BMW if you leave it in the "semi" opened position and driving down the highway, its quite pleasant. Once you open it all the way and are going 45+ MPH, the air stops gliding over the car and it creates a deafening booming noise.
