Default Where is the HEPA A/C filter?

Where have they hidden that thing? Like to check it but have no idea where it is hidden.

You may need a flashlight.

Open your glovebox. You'll see a flat, smooth, rectangular black piece of plastic across the top of the back of the glovebox. Lift up on its corners. It will pop out. Behind this black piece of plastic, you'll see another black piece of plastic with 2 circular protusions. Depending on the size of your hands, pull on one or both of these protrusions. This black piece of plastic will pop out toward you. You should then see the black plastic tray that holds the filter. Simply slide it out. The filter is held in place with small black plastic clips that are part of the tray.

Reverse the process to re-install

I don't believe this filter qualifies as a HEPA filter.

Good luck.

...and you may want to use a pair of long nose plyers along with the flashlight to pull that second plastic cover out. this is all a bit tricky to reinstall - the reinstall is a bit challenging, but the flashlight will make it go more easily. GL

I thought it was HEPA, guess not.

The long rectangular plastic piece had already fallen out and was lying in the glove compartment. I thought it had come off from somewhere else and someone just put it there - like carwash people - yes, I take my car to the car wash (do same with my classic Vette). Will tackle it next weekend in bright sunlight - I hope.

I plan to install a cut out of a Filtrete (tm) or similar high flow yet near-HEPA rated home forced-air filter every year or so.

Probably cost less and be as good as the standard equipment, maybe?

Has anyone done this? What's the Lexus filter cost?

I got mine from dealer for twenty some dollars each ($26?).
I saw a similar size HEPA filter refill in Office Depot. I was thinking to modify the refill next time.
