Default Max wide REAR wheels for performance tires ...

I need to install maximum wide REAR wheels without any fender work (may be light shaving, but not more).
I have read all topics here about wheel fitment but did't found answer ...
What maximume wide for REAR wheels is possible?

I want to purchase drag tires - HOOSIER Drag Radial 315/30R18 or 335/30R18 (only this sizes for R18).
At minimum i need to install 10.5J for 315s, but best size is 11J.
For 335s i need 12J rims.

Please help me to make right choice without problems with fitment.
Thanks in advance!

I think you talk about SoCalSC4's setup?
I was look it but there is no any offset info

I think it is must be about 50-55 offset for 11J .. What you say?

i'm currently running 285/30/19 in the rear.

previously i was running 295/30/19 in the rear.

the only reason i changed was i couldn't find a 295/30/19 in the rear the day i needed them. i will probably go back to the 295/30/19 when i get a chance.

i personally can't see why 315 won't fit as long as you raise it up and set the suspension to stiff so it doesn't squat in the rear.

The 315/325 will fit. You just need a higher offset wheel. A rim with spec of 18x11 +45 should get you close. You might need to go a little higher on the offset(like +50 or +55), but that's a pretty close guess.

I ran 305 in the rear of my car on a +38 wheel.

Thank you epic1si and JeffTsay for info,
JeffTsay, could you'll say your rims width that have +38 offset with 305s?
May be you known available backspace for GS2?

I think to buy Tanabe SSR Professor SP-1 rims model S118110 ("SL - 84mm", width 11J) with SBC coating. It has +49 offset. What you'll say?

I tried to search any other 18x11J wheels with offset 50-55, but not successful.
I think only custom wheels can have this big offsets.

If you plan to run 11" or 12" wide in the rear you have to roll or shave your rear fenders. if you are going 11" wide I recommend 30-40 offset with a 315/30R18 tires. if you get 11" wide with a 50-55 offset I will garantee it will touch your rear suspension

Then I can buy the 11J rims w/ 49 offset and can use some spacers for most close fitment?

If you are using this wheel setup for drag use you do not want to use spacers as it can be very dangerous. if you get a +49 offset and then you find out you need a 10mm spacer then that means you just lost 10mm of thread for the lug nut so you will not have enough turns (unless you buy extended studs). I recommend buying wheels that fit properly without using spacers

I'm currently using a 20x11 +33 on the rear of my vehicle and it is very close to the shock tower and flush with the fender. I'm using a 275/30R20 with rolled fenders but I cannot fit a 315 unless I pull the fenders more. I might get away with running 295/25R20 but that is pushing it. What you are planning to do is run something more extreme then what the car is designed for. So if you want 315/30R18 on a 11j rim you will need to do some fender modifications

Hmm, JeffTsay use 305 tires with +38 offset rims ...
.. and as I mean without any fenders mods

But he never mentioned if he cut/rolled his fenders. As I mentioned in my previous post if you run 11j you will need a offset between 30-40 so JeffTsai is right in that case. but when he said...

I believe this is wrong information and I am 100% sure this will touch the rear suspension.

I sell wheels and tires for a living so believe me when I say I know what I'm talking about and I eat, breath and sleep about offsets and sizing LOL. If you want a 11" wide rim with the most fender clearance I recommend a +37-40 offset. But you still may need to shave the rear fender because the tire is so wide but I'm not 100% certain, you might get lucky but that is your best shot. I suggest try that first and if the tire still rubs shave the rear, its not a big job or a big deal, just make sure to reseal it to prevent any rusting.
