Default HELP noob SRT air intake ECU prob

I just got my SRT intake for my 2003 GS300. Put the intake on. Looked at the ECU wiring diagram started wiring everything up by following the line to the dot and not the colors (colors don't match), i don't know if thats common but my sensor 1, sensor 2 and ignition RPM are all different colors than the wiring diagram says. But any way i plug her up and the car cuts on for a while then when i try to take off it cuts off. I know the wiring has to be the prob but i did exactly what the "2002-2003 GS300 ECU wiring diagram" says. If anyone could help me out i would much appreciate.

Hey I got my SRT intake for my GS430 about 3 weeks ago I installed it myself and when I got to the wiring part I had the same problem. I called the people at SRT and they said if the colors don't match don't worry about it just pay attention to the location of where the wire is supposed to go and you should be alright.

Welcome to CL. and bg_281 is correct. Go by the pin location not the wire colors and you should be good.

yup here's mine like i posted for you hud on seloc

This is a little DIY for those who may need it to install the ECU box.

Beginning processes:
1.Take off both battery terminals. It is not necessary for both but I do it just because I am used to it!

2.Remove the three 10mm bolts that hold the top on to the ECU box.

This is the ECU as viewed while standing in front of the driver's side fender. So the intake manifold and intake are to the top side of this.

Step 1!
The black wire from the box goes to the ground bolt here!

Step 2!
The red wire from the box is then spliced into the first white clip on the top row of clips here

It is the first pin on the top row

Step 3!
Then the white wire is spliced into the 4rth white clip on the top row

It is the 2nd to last pin on the top row.

Step 4!
Then the gray wire is spliced on the same clip so splice it on to the 3rd pin on the 2nd row.

Step 5!
Then the purple wire is spliced and goes to the last clip on the top row here

It is the 3rd pin on the 2nd row

Step 6!
Then the last wire, the orange one goes to the Red and Blue wire and eliminates the pin itself.

Ending Process:
1. put the 3 10 mm bolts back on with the cover.
2. attach battery terminals.
3. start car and let idle until it is warmed up to normal level - look at the temp gauge on the dash. it should be a little under halfway before you rev the motor or put it in drive.
4. enjoy!

hope this helps!

yeah i followed the directions (not colors) and all. I called Swift Racing and thinks they think the ECU was defective so i sent it back for them to check. Hopefully thats what it is.

Does anyone have a picture of the SRT ECU box? I want to compare it to the one I have to see if it's the right one. I'm having the same problem as HUD.

Thanks man, but why is your black wire not hooked up? My black box does look like that. I just thought it was supposed to be smaller but I guess not.
