New LS in our family
After the demise of my ES a couple months ago, we recently added a new Lexus member to our family. This time, it's a 2006 LS430, purchased by my father. The specs I know of so far are that the color is Cypress Pearl (rare LS color), no navigation or ML system, the LS comes with the Premium package (including Smart Key, heated/cooled seats, automatic rear windshield shade), and 18" chrome factory rims (originally $2K but got the price cut down to $1K).
The car was stickered at around $63K from the lot with only 9 miles on the odometer! It was like driving a totally brand new car in mint condition. About 2 hours later, we purchased the LS for $49K and some change before tags and fees. How did we get the price reduced down so much, you ask? Well initially, we walked into the Palm Beach dealership with the intent to purchase a used '04 745i but found out that it only has a couple thousand miles left before the warranty runs out, my father did not like the location and functionality of the gear shifter, and there's evidence of wear and tear in the interior (my dad's a perfectionist) So we were gonna walk out of the dealership without interest in the Bimmer, and the sales manager then stopped and gave us an immediate alternative: a 06 LS430 w/ $13K off from the sticker price. How could we not resist?
Here are the pics of my father's new prized possession. It's a huge upgrade compared to his previous '98 740iL.
