Re-badging
I de-badged the rear as I typically do on all my cars, removing the IS350 and Lexus badges.
I should have read a thread on this forum that said two little holes are then exposed. I really didn't want to fill-in and re-paint car, so I decided to try something different. I kept the pieces and spray painted them with two coats of flat black (not ultra flat) and re-attached them.
On the SGM, the dull black badges look really good. (If anyone is interested, I can take some photos and post them in a couple of days.)

Dont they already sell Dark Pearl badges? They look like SGM badges to me

I guess repainting them is cheaper though

Prety much for people who bought the cheap end and want to call it the high end car.....that's my take anyway.

the "Euro thing" you're talking about.. owners of high end cars may have wanted a sleeper look.
I know there's been cases of a V12-engined S600 being down-badged to an S500 (V8)

Post photo's, I'm really interested to see how they will look on a dark colour as I will be painting my emblems black in the spring.
Did you just paint over the chrome surface; or sand, prime, paint, clearcoat?

Here is the Lexus re-badged image (matt black on the SGM).
Someone asked if there were 2 holes on each side: yes. There are two posts on the Lexus badge and one on the "S" and one on the "0" (I think). The "IS 350" are all separate; the "Lexus" badge is one piece.
Someone else asked why de-badge? On many cars it cleans up the clutter on the rear of most cars. I don't especially like 'bling' and prefer no brightly chromed pieces, which is another reason I like to debadge. (In fact, I'm still debating whether to paint the "L" on the rear a matte black as well. For now I'm leaving it alone.)
I also put the red vinyl on the yellow turn signal. The all red look seems better, at least on the SGM.
