Unreal....and here I thought the $30-50k ADM on the 2021 Structural Blue Convertible Inspiration Series by CA dealers was disgusting.

Theyre banking on it being one of 550 inspiration series in the final model year, but yeah anyone willing to pay 50k over sticker is likely someone for whom money is no object.
But I hope it finds a good home with someone who will drive it not just mothball it.

Agree, and I have no doubt that some people will buy them.
My local dealer had a regular 2026 white vert, not even a bespoke, and it sold for 20k over sticker back in December before production end was even announced, in like a week or 2. I dont even live in an area with a TON of people rich enough that they dont flinch at a 20k ADM, but apparently there are enough.

400Mman coined the phrase "...desire to own...." as one of three factors affecting the now market . I am astounded at the prices quoted lately. But I can't discount the power of desire to override what seems outrageous ordinarily . The ADM's will begin to disappear as new inventory becomes nonexistent. The aftermarket is going to be a great thread here testing a broader or still niched group of enthusiasts' numbers.
I got a funny feeling.....I feel pretty good having the money in the bank from just selling my is500 back to the dealer this week. I totally get that most, if not all the folks who are buying these cars might not be affected by the world's events. I am not rooting for a correction in the economy or worse, however I do want to land up with an LC, but I'm going to be patient and if I don't get what I'm looking for at msrp, I'll live with that. I've seen this hype before with a lot of different cars and people lost a lot of money. I'm not being a negative Nancy.... just be cautious. Take it from an old fart...

But I dont think a lot of folks chasing LCs are in the "spending beyond their means" crowd. I paid a 5k ADM but I can comfortably afford it even if the car follows a more realistic depreciation curve, not least of all because I dont plan on EVER selling it (and because it matched my exact desired spec must-haves).
I am not in the 1% crowd so I will never have a multitude of cars, but I can afford my paid-off daily driver 2018 SLC 43, and my financed LC affer a large downpayment. It will be paid off in a year +/-. I hope anyone paying a big ADM is "independently wealthy" and isnt reaching beyond their means, AND that they do it out of true passion for the car not to mothball it.
I might've gone as high as 10k ADM simply because emotionally I value being the one breaking the car in more than I value a month's disposable income, but I'd laugh in a dealer's face if they sprung a 20k-50k ADM on me and walk out.

Yeah, wish I couldve moved forward with my purchase a lot sooner, but staying liquid to help family took priority. In the current market I bit the bullet on the 5k and dont regret it. I get joy daily just SEEING Skye (her name) in my garage.
