Default Things to Check Prior to Warranty Expiration

My 2022 RX-350 factory warranty is about to expire. I'm going to take it to a Lexus dealer so they can 'catch' and fix any issues under warranty. Besides the general "Multipoint Inspection" is there anything specific that I should have them check?

I know the water pump can be a weak point for these engines. Anything else?

Thanks,

I took it to an independent Lexus mechanic today: it has a rear main seal leak. They said the 3 big issues with these engines are the rear seal (requires removal of the tranny), timing cover leak (removal of the engine), and water pump. Out of warranty cost ~$2500 (indie)/~$3500? at Lexus. They gave me a photo of the leak, and said to show Lexus the photo so they don't just wipe the oil off and claim there is no leak. Glad I'm still under warranty, but it's hard to believe Lexus can't make a 'new' powertrain that lasts North of 40k miles.

Oh, and the rear seat folding mechanism isn't working - minor compared to the rear main seal.

Ok, what you did was exactly what I was going to suggest because Lexus has no vested interest in finding warranty items to work on. I assume your mechanic charged you for the look over. I plan to do the same thing about 2 months before our CPO warranty expires this June and figure the inspection will cost about $250. We have a 2019 and though I look at it really good every oil change (and I know what to look for), it is dry as a bone now, but anything can happen between now and then.

Great job!
