The point of having a carbon fiber hood is weight savings.

Yes I know it is for weight saving but fiber glass does the same thing if I wanted to paint the hood. The reason people get carbon fiber hoods is for the looks and weight savings. If you just want weight saving but was going to paint it anyways mine as well pay less and get a fiber glass hood. Just my thoughts.

Well carbon fiber is more durable than fiberglass. Its seriously not safe to have a fiberglass hood. On impact it would just tear up. Carbon fiber is a very strong, yet lightweight material. Thats why so many people prefer to use it on hoods, not to mention other things.

Guys,

Sorry but group buys on ClubLexus can only be arranged through an approved ClubLexus vendor.

If the hood vendor or the audio shop want to become a CL vendor and support our forum, have 'em send an email to advertising@clublexus.com for details. Alternatively, you can work a deal through an existing vendor who may have their own source or work with yours.

Retrodrive did the legwork on this earlier and championed it to make sure the manufacturer was reputable. If you guys want this to go back up as a GB, please let him know if you're really serious (e.g. won't back out, cash deposit in hand) and if his prior mfgr - if it isn't the same one - will still do a deal.
