Is there a toyota spare tire that I can buy cheap from the dealer or an older one I can buy from a salvage yard and put in that grooved space in the trunk where the sc430 spare goes? I mean I can wrap it up in a grey cloth bag and secure it with a bungee cord. Who is going to see it in the trunk?
Please tell me what model toyota will fit and where you would reccomend I get it from?
Thanks everyone

ohh man you beat me I did my install friday night but was away all weekend I took a crapload of pictures to post up also. I also used the supra spare. It has the same tire size as the one for the sc430 I think the rim itself may buldge out a little bit more than the stock one but its barely noticable I think. And its more than $200 cheaper I also got a bunch of pictures with all the backseats torn out and stuff I'll post that later some time this week when I finish the system.

Hey Tony, I think you got the right idea at a fraction of the price. I am pretty sure you can pick up a vinyl cover for that tire from your local aftermarket parts store? I found a supra spare but it is off an 1989. From what Henry says I don't know if it will fit.
Believe it or not I went to the shop that installed my Amistads a couple of weeks ago to have the rings put on today and they found a 1 inch bolt in the center of my 1 week old ps2's. I had to have the tire removed and fixed allready. Thank god it was a really slow leak

well I actually bought all the carpets and stuff, the only thing I saved money on was the tires. if you look in the gallery I got more pictures of it with the tire, but since the other guy already posted pictures with the carpet on I thought I would post them without the cover and stuff

I think this was because they had trouble with their recently-ourchased electronic mounting machine and didn't feel that I should be charged for their learning experience.
The kit ...
$659.12 - Spare kit parts (incl donut)
$128.58 - Labor
$787.70 - Total
$300.00 - Goodwill discount
$487.70 - My total cost
Do you have any other Lexus dealers nearby?

I purchased my car from Dorschel Lexus in Rochester, NY and that's where I go for service. Whether or not I received a goodwill discount because that's where I bought the car, I don't know, but I'd say it had SOMEthing to do with it.
They have outstanding and very professional service and parts departments and are a pleasure to deal with. If you bought your car at a place named Bay Ridge Lexus, I'd guess that you are out on Long Island. Rochester is a long way for you.

Can I just buy the spare tire from Lexus? I went to my dealer and they don't have a part number on their computer for a spare tire for the sc430. Nothing comes up when they punch it in.
Thanks,
Mario

camillian ...
pm me with your email address and I'll send you an image that I scanned with all the part numbers for the spare kit. The image Is too large for this forum and if I reduce the size, it's unreadable.
