Default Recommended Front Shocks

HI All,

New to the thread here with my 2002 SC430 but was curious to see about your recommendations for inexpensive but acceptable shocks. hard going over bumps and the ride is just not a lexus ride.... KYB shocks I have found for 200 shipped. Are there any shocks out there with the springs already mounted as well? I did some searching and found some updates but nothing with price in mind...sorry guys on a budget!

Thanks for everything! Enjoying this new site very much! Lots to learn!

My understanding is the 98-05 gs300 front shocks fit without any issues. If you absolutely can't afford better quality. You can look up the gs300 on primeautoparts . I don't think they have preloaded ones though. For $55 for the pair I just wouldn't expect more than 25,000 miles out of them. You have to figure your time or cost of labor into the equation. Knowing you'll be doing the job again in such a short time.

Yeah, primechoiceautoparts . Click on package price when you find the shocks. Sorry I accidentally left out the choice.

Default Thanks!

Thanks guys! I went with the KYB shocks and strut mounts. Not really sure if these are the culprits as my car isnt really floaty...but just a bad ride and really stiff steering!! Crossing fingers...

That will be money better spent than if you had bought the cheap shocks. If you have run flats on that will make the ride harsh too.

Curious if new shocks helped your car fell better? I just ordered the steering rack bushing kit from Fig hoping it does the trick to make the steering wheel stop wobbling over bumps, let me know after shocks what you think.

Just getting car back later today. I had the new FIGS installed on steering rack, and found the control arm #2 were torn on each side so replaced those with factory Lexus new arms. I also had to replace both front wheel bearings and then the rear bearings as well! Hoping its quiet and solid now, will let you know over weekend.

Where was this car driven? To replace all four wheel bearings is very unusual. In fact, replacing one is unusual.

It was the right front wheel bearing had hot spots when we pulled it out, and I decided to do left front just so its done. Then when put back together heard it coming from rear. I guess I could not hear the rear over the front! It was bought in Phoenix new and then was in Memphis until this last 2 years it was back in Phoenix. Same owner since new and every single service record at Lexus every 5,000 miles, but it does have 217,000 now.
